Come to the Lord

as a Child

One day at a time. That is how the Lord makes us take life. We try to wander into the next day and the next. What is going to happen if . And when the day arrives we find we do have the wisdom to handle that day and the strength, too. One day at a time.

If we think of the past, it brings us down. We only seem to think of the bad. If we think of the future, most of us think of negativity, and not with the hope that the Lord puts there. He wants us to bury every fear of the future, of poverty for those dear to you, of suffering, of loss. Bury all thoughts of unkindness and bitterness, all your dislikes, your resentments, your sense of failure, your disappointment in others and in yourselves, your gloom, your despondency, and let them all be buried in Christ. Then rise and go forward to a new and risen life in Christ.

You say that is too hard. You are right. We cannot do it. We were made that way. We have these failings, but it is good! Without the failings we would never desire the Lord. We would be secure within ourselves, or at least think we are.

You know the way out. All we have to do is to come to Him and ask, He wants to be needed. He wants to be asked. In asking it we show our will bending to His. It humbles us. Our pride is totally taken away, and that is good.

We also must rest in Him. By that I mean be willing to pick up every care and place it in His hands for Him to take care of. For some of you that will be very hard at first. Until you find the relief that it brings when you do it. When you have placed it there, it can never be picked back up. Now He must take care of everything you have given to Him. And He will take care of it.

Become as a little child. A child never questions plans. It accepts gladly. A child just reaches out his hands and asks without fear, accepting love unquestioningly. A child’s expectations are BIG. Never limits. Somehow down the road we grew out of these things. Let’s return to being a child again.

Be blessed,

Pastor Helen and Emilie
